Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actor from Manama, Bahrain and was born into a multi-ethnic household. Her parents are Malaysian and Sri Lankan. Her father Elroy Fernandez hails from Sri Lanka. Her brothers are younger and a older sister. Parents relocated to Bahrain in the late 1980s as a result of the Lankan turmoil and she was born and raised in Bahrain. In Australia, she studied Media and Communications at University of Sydney after graduating from Bahrain. Her passion for different cultures and languages has led her to the Berlitz Language School, a school in which she improved on French as well as Arabic in addition to learning Spanish. In 2006 she was named the Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March, 2006. She also participated at Miss Universe 2006. Her first appearance on television was after she won the Miss Sri Lanka title. Her show, Lanka Business Report, is about business in Sri Lanka. Padukone (the daughter of badminton players Prakash Padukone) was born and grew up in Bangalore. In her teens, Padukone competed at the national badminton tournaments levels. She later quit the game to pursue a career as a fashion designer. Padukone has Mangalorean roots and is fluent in Konkani as her primary language. Padukone Village is situated in Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi Distric of Karnataka in India. Prakash Padukone has retired as a world-renowned athlete in badminton, while her mother also works as a travel advisor.
